Prince Charles underwent the rigorous submarine escape drill without breathing apparatus today from the Royal Navy's submarine escape training tank at HMS Dolphin, the shore based submarine depot at Gosforth. Dressed in swimming trunks and wearing a life jacket, goggle and a noseclip, the Prince came up from depths of 30 and then 60 feet.
