Scope and content

Duke of Kent to Wed. For three months past the 25 year old Duke of Kent, cousin of the Queen and eighth in succession to the throne, has been engaged to 28 year old Katharine Worsley, daughter of Sir William Worsley, Lord Lieutenant of the North Riding of Yorkshire. The announcement was put off until last night owing to the Queen's absence on her tour of India and Pakistan. The couple first met four years ago when the Duke was with the Royal Scots Greys at Catterick, and the wedding is expected to take place at York Minster in June. Photograph shows: In the gardens of the Duchess of Kent's London home at Kensington Palace, are seen: Left to right: The Duchess of Kent; the father and mother of Katharine, Sir William and Lady William Worsley; the Duke of Kent and his fiancée, Katharine Worsley
