His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh today held a press conference in Buckingham Palace to mark the 20th anniversary of the" Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme". Since the Award Scheme was introduced in February 1956, it has spread to over 40 countries of the Commonwealth and has attracted well over one million entrants. By the end of 1976, half a million Awards will have been gained. Photo shows the Duke of Edinburgh answering questions at today's press conference in Buckingham Palace. In the background is a graph showing the growth of the scheme
