A series of pictures depicting the life and times of the Duke of Windsor. The Duke, who is the eldest son of his late Majesty King George V, was born 23 June 1894. He ascended the throne as King Edward VIII in January 1936 and abdicated in December 1936. Six months later her married Mrs Wallis Warfield (formerly Simpson). The Duke now lives in France. A previously unseen wedding day photograph of the late Duke and Duchess of Windsor, one of up to 5,000 family photos found hidden under a wooden cover in the Duke's bath at their mansion in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris. The house is being restored by its owner Mr Mohammed Al-Fayed, who plans to open it up to scholars and historians.
