The Duke is wearing the uniform of the Royal Canadian Regiment, with the rank of Honorary Colonel-in-Chief. On the Garter Sash, with Star, is the badge of the Grand Master of the Order of the British Empire

His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh today held a press conference in Buckingham Palace to mark the 20th anniversary of the" Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme". Since the Award Scheme was introduced in February 1956, it has spread to over 40 countries of the Commonwealth and has attracted well over one million entrants.
