Prince Charles had a command performance of Goonery on Monday night (11-11-74) at a dinner in London to celebrate the publication of a book of scripts of radio's famous Goon Show programmes. But only three of the Goons were there: Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers and Michael Bentine. The sick absentee was Harry Secombe. Not to be outdone he sent the Prince a poem. "Oh spare a thought for poor old Ned, lying sick upon his bed - wishing he were there tonight instead of being struck with blight."
