The life and times of the Duke of Windsor
A series of pictures depicting the life and times of the Duke of Windsor. The Duke, who is the eldest son of his late Majesty King George V, was born 23 June 1894. He ascended the throne as King Edward VIII in January 1936 and abdicated in December 1936. Six months later her married Mrs Wallis Warfield (formerly Simpson). The Duke now lives in France. Photo shows a flashback to 1920, the Duke of Windsor (left) with Lord Mountbatten in a bath which stretched between the guns of HMS Renown
