Queen Elizabeth steps off the plane after Royal Tour of East Africa
The first time the Queen stepped on British soil as Monarch, her Majesty is seen arriving home from East Africa the day after her father, the late King George VI had died. She and the Duke were on a Royal Tour. At the bottom of the steps waiting to pay his respects to the new Queen is Winston Churchill who was then Prime Minister.
