Pittville Press is a small press which was established by the University of Gloucestershire in DATE. The Press began life as an extension of the practice of the illustration program at the university. Students are key to the running of the press, with placements each year and an annual publication of the journal OLIO.
UoG Illustration was first established in 1852 as part of the Cheltenham School of Art and is now a community of artists who use visual language to tell stories and connect to an audience.
Pittville Press also administers the prestigious Cheltenham Illustration Awards. This includes a printed annual, and a public exhibition held each year on behalf of the Press at the university. Past exhibitions have also been held at the Pitt Rivers Museum; The Wilson Museum; The Museum in the Park; and the London Book Fair.
