Farewell Burmese. This June 1986 photo from files shows Britain's Queen Elizabeth at this year's Trooping the Colour ceremony, riding Burmese. It was the last time she rode the horse at this ceremony, it was announced from Buckingham Palace Monday. In future, the Queen will drive to her annual birthday parade by carriage, meaning the end of the 18 year double act. The Queen has decided to retire the horse, nearly 24, and does not want to start again with a new side saddle horse
