Prince Charles portrait by Bryan Organ

Prince Charles, A Modern Royal Portrait. Close up of His Royal Highness Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, as seen by painter Bryan Organ. The idea for the portrait was first broached in September 1979, and artist and sitter met on November of the same year. The National Portrait Gallery, which acquired the finished painting in 1980, left the design to be worked out by the artist and Prince Charles together. Bryan Organ, aged 46, has painted portraits of many people of note, including writer Malcolm Muggeridge, designer Mary Quant, and, in 1970, Princess Margaret, sister of the Queen and aunt of Prince Charles. The searching study of Prince Charles, in acrylics on canvas, indicates his interest in outdoor pursuits
