Prince Charles in "Quiet Flows the Don" play at university

The Player Prince. The Prince of Wales takes to the stage again tonight (Monday), when he appears in "Quiet Flows the Don", The Dryden Society's Trinity College revue, at Cambridge. The revue will run until Saturday. The Queen is expected to see it during the week. The 120 seat college theatre, it is usually occupied by a table tennis table, has already been fully booked. These pictures were made during yesterday's dress rehearsal. The Prince's views were sought on a set of bagpipes. He picked them up, got himself entangled in them (upper picture), and finally ended up (lower picture) in a threshing heap on the floor. When he came to his feet, he pronounced that the bagpipes must be an "Indigenous Northern reptile", adding "It has been stuffed and they have tidied up the tentacles a bit". The Prince showed the reputation as a comedian he established in the revue last year, when one sketch found him inhabiting a dustbin, has been enhanced. The Prince made one brief reference to his future in the Navy. "The Naval review at Portsmouth will be warm and sunny, and so there will be no cold navels", he quipped. Casket presented to Prince Charles

The Casket presented to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales by the Corporation of London on his admission to the freedom of the city of London. The casket takes the form of a traditional sea chest of the late 19th century, and is made in gold. The body of the casket is in a matt finish, with the protective angle brackets and bars in polished gold. The lid is surmounted with the Arms of the City of London carved in white gold, and the emblem of His Royal Highness , the three feathers, applied to the front of the box. An inscription inside the lid commemorates the occasion. This type of sea chest was probably used by His Royal Highness' great-grandfather and grandfather during their service with the Royal Navy as midshipmen

The antique canopy bed was once owned by the favourite mistress of French King Henri II, Diane de Poitiers.
